Technology company Symatrix has been acquired by American digital transformation provider Applications Software Technology (AST).

Manchester-based Symatrix has been growing quickly and plans to increase its 100-strong team by 50% in the next year.

Symatrix’s chief executive Chris Brooks, who joined the company in 2008 and has led it for the past six years, said: “AST is a best-in-class enterprise solutions provider that has developed into a premier consultancy for complex cloud needs across public and commercial industries.

“Joining forces with AST is a natural progression for Symatrix and allows us to service our customers with even greater resources and technical services.”

Brooks and the rest of the Symatrix leadership team will remain in their roles, with a renewed focus on expanding the UK customer base. For AST, acquiring the UK-based Oracle HCM, Payroll, ERP, SCM and OCI partner provides the next step in its global expansion.

AST’s chief executive Justin Winter said: “The capabilities of Symatrix complement and broaden AST’s core services and allow us to reach new global markets.

“We’ll continue to deliver high-value solutions that provide measurable value and outcomes for our customers at a global scale.”
