Accountancy group Mazars has joined a wider international network and will be known locally as Forvis Mazars.

The newest “top 10 global professional services network”, has been formed by the “creation of a network” of audit, tax, and advisory firm Mazars with Forvis, an American firm creating a £3.9bn ($4.7bn) global network.

According to IAB World Network rankings 2023 Mazars had revenues of €2.8bn ($3bn) and Forvis €1.6bn ($1.7bn).

It’s but the latest twist in the ongoing shake-up of the wider professional services market, with the firm one of a group just below the “Big Four” looking to win audit work.

Local management at the Manchester office of French-based Mazars has been keen to emphasise the benefits and advantages of being part of a bigger network.

Dave Hilton, Manchester Office Managing Partner at Forvis Mazars said: “The creation of the Forvis Mazars network is incredibly exciting, creating more opportunities for both our clients and employees.

“Manchester has always been a city synonymous with innovation and technological advancements, and many businesses in the region naturally look towards North America as part of their international expansion plans.

“Our global network will give clients access to professionals covering all 50 states in the US, so whichever region best suits, or if clients need help assessing the potential location, then we can provide on the ground support. This is a game changer for our business,  but more importantly it focuses on our clients’ ever growing complex requirements and provides our people with additional opportunities to develop within our practice.

“We look forward to developing even stronger relationships with our colleagues in the US and providing  our team in Manchester with new opportunities as a result.”

The new network will also provide opportunities for employees in Manchester, such as working on international assignments, secondments and reciprocal training programmes.

Hervé Hélias, CEO and Chairman, Forvis Mazars adds: “This is a momentous and exciting time for our clients, our profession and our people. Mazars and Forvis have worked together for over 20 years and share a commitment to delivering an outstanding client experience.

“We are well positioned to deliver excellence, everywhere, under a single global brand. Clients will get consistent, high-quality, comprehensive services worldwide, and we remain agile and flexible to their specific needs.

“Working together, I am confident that our two firms will continue to empower our people to raise the bar for client service standards, while challenging industry opportunities to support future needs in local markets.”
