Property services specialist clinches contracts worth almost £7m

Liberty maintenance provision

Knowsley-based national property services group, Liberty, has been awarded four new gas servicing and maintenance contracts worth close to £7m.

The deals are with housing associations and local authorities in the North of England and North Wales.

The contracts with Home Group, Alliance Norse Group, West Lancashire Borough Council and Wrexham Borough Council, will see the improvement of around 18,000 homes and underscore the company’s market leading expertise in heating installations, maintenance, safety and repairs.

Liberty has retained its contract with Alliance Norse Group for 24-hour, all-year-round maintenance and repair of domestic heating for High Peak Council’s 4,000 homes.

The £3.25m contract, awarded via a mini competition through the PfH Heating Solutions Framework, also supports a strong social element

One local young apprentice will be recruited each year alongside the provision of training and development opportunities with local schools and Buxton Job Centre.

Connections will be strengthened with local charities including Stockport Foodbank and there will be proactive local campaigns to raise awareness of gas safety.

West Lancashire Borough Council has awarded Liberty a five-year contract to provide servicing and maintenance of heating appliances and installations to nearly 5,000 homes.

The £3m contract also includes the service and maintenance of 588 solar thermal heating systems, 149 air-source heat pumps and 117 sheltered schemes. As part of the business’s social value commitments, one apprentice will be assigned to the contract.

Wrexham County Borough Council has awarded Liberty a further one-year contract worth £500,000 for the installation of domestic heating systems in up to 200 homes via a mini tender within the original framework. The contract was procured through the normal Sell to Wales route.

Finally, Home Group has awarded Liberty a contract worth £150,000 to provide gas servicing for the organisation’s Cumbria Installs project which will see the upgrade of 9,000 homes.

Ray Jones, Group Managing Director of Liberty, said: “We are thrilled to have been awarded several new heating contracts which will see us provide 18,000 homes with great quality heating services. We take pride in our commitment to social responsibility.”

Oliver Wild, Operations Manager at Alliance Norse, said: “Liberty’s commitment to quality service and social responsibility aligns perfectly with our values at Alliance Norse. We look forward to seeing the ongoing positive impact this collaboration will have on the local community, especially with the addition of new apprenticeship and training opportunities.”

Cllr David A Bithell, Lead Member for Housing, said: “We welcome the continued partnership with Liberty for a further year which supports our contract holders.”
