£110m 407-home residential scheme unveiled on fringe of city centre

A £110m scheme to provide 406 luxury apartments and townhouses on the fringe of Liverpool city centre has been unveiled by Ormskirk-based developer, Jarron.
The project is located on the Metalworks site, on Leeds Street, which Jarron acquired in September, 2023, will create a mix of best in class one-, two- and three-bed apartments, as well as five ‘New York City’ style townhouses.
The scheme will provide a range of amenity space including a residents’ lounge, bar, co-working space, a cinema room, gym, a running track and a stunning rooftop terrace.
The flagship Metalworks development is the latest in several exciting Jarron live-builds across Liverpool, Newcastle and Sheffield.
The scheme is also estimated to create more than 380 jobs during the design, construction and operational phases, with the two 15-storey blocks on Leeds Street re-energising a key Liverpool gateway location.
The proposal will breathe new life into a site which has stood vacant for several years and will sit within the emerging ‘Northern Quarter’ area close to the business district with impressive views of the Liverpool waterfront and docklands.
Jarron’s proposals are expected to go before city planners imminently.
Will Clarke, Jarron Development Director, said: “Liverpool city centre is a historic and vibrant area and our Metalworks scheme will provide high quality and much needed residential accommodation that will build on this success.
“This is a game-changing residential project from Jarron, with first-class amenities for residents in an ideal location for work, leisure, travel and nightlife.”
He added: “We are looking forward to the scheme progressing at pace, helping to inject new energy into a vibrant area of the city centre.”
