Sadness at sudden passing of popular Stockport business leader Julian Lewis-Booth

RIP Julian Lewis-Booth

The Stockport business community has been stunned this week to learn of the sudden death of Julian Lewis-Booth, sales director of family owned catering supplies business Stephensons.

A former Conservative councillor for Hazel Grove and an active member of the board of the Stockport Economic Alliance, he was a popular and engaging business leader and family man.

His brother Henry conveyed the news to customers and suppliers to the business in a short statement:

“It is with the heaviest of hearts that I have to inform you that my brother, Julian, passed away on Friday 14th June 2024.

“Julian clearly leaves a huge hole in the lives of his immediate family – Nikki, Alex, and James, and all of our thoughts are with them at this time. The same can be said of dad and myself, as well as his many friends, colleagues, and extended family.

“Julian played a key role in helping build the fantastic team we have here at Stephensons, and I know he will be sorely missed.

“Funeral arrangements will follow, and I would like to thank you all for your messages of love and support at this time,” Henry said.

Steve Oliver, chairman of the Stockport Economic Alliance said: “Julian was a keen supporter of the Alliance over many years, an ex-councillor and a strong business supporter of all things Stockport; he cared passionately about not only his own business but those of all Stopfordians and made a huge difference to his community over many years.

“He will be deeply missed by all those that worked with him and on a personal note I shall miss his passion and enthusiasm that he always showed in contributing so actively at SEA.”
