Residential child care specialist focused on growth after completing MBO

St Helens residential child care specialist, Inspire CS Group, has completed a management buyout.

Founded in 2009, Inspire has quickly established itself as a quality provider of support and specialist residential care for young people with complex needs in communities throughout Lancashire, Cheshire, Greater Manchester and Merseyside.

In January 2012 it opened The Parks School and this has grown over the past 12 years from a six-student school to a 30-student school in Hindley, Wigan.

In March 2014, Inspire also developed its own Supported Living Services. As a result, the Inspire CS Group now operates 14 supported accommodation services and nine single, dual and three-bed Ofsted approved homes, providing warm, comfortable and stable family orientated environments for young people aged eight-18 years.

Each home and supported living house is staffed with experienced social care professionals all equipped with the skills necessary to ensure that young people can flourish and move on to adulthood with the skills and knowledge they require.

Alternative finance provider to mid-sized SMEs, ThinCats, provided a significant funding package to support the MBO, which will see the full exit of the non-operating shareholders, with Paul Keogh retaining the business alongside a new partner, Jordan Kemp.

Together, they will focus on opening new services and ultimately growing the business through capitalising on the significant market opportunity and high demand for specialist children’s services.

Paul Keogh said: “We are so happy that Thincats have been able to support us to complete the managed buyout.

“They have been very responsive in all areas of the buyout process and have provided the financial stability and reassurances we needed in a very challenging financial/lending market.

“This will enable us to grow and develop our services to meet the diverse and complex needs of the young people we care for, educate and support into adulthood.”

Richard Henshaw, National Head of Healthcare, ThinCats, said: “Paul and Jordan have built a fantastic reputation in the sector and are well positioned to capitalise on market opportunities.

“It is gratifying to be supporting a business that is providing such a vital service improving the lives of so many young people. It is an exciting time for Inspire and we look forward to seeing their continued growth.”

The transaction was advised by Rangewell with further financial support from Mattocks Grindley & Langtons Chartered Accountants with legal support and guidance provided by Primas Law and Napthens.
