Multimillion-pound deal clinches acquisition of home care provider
Home care provider, Manchester-based Esteem Care Holdings, has been sold to Grosvenor Health and Social Care in a multimillion-pound deal.
It marks a significant shift in the UK’s home care industry, as the acquisition will enhance the quality and reach of home care services across the UK, said Wolverhampton-based new owner.
Esteem Care provides more than 7,150 care hours weekly to 620 clients through a dedicated team of 250 care staff. With branches in Manchester, Leeds, Carlisle, Kendal, Dumfries and Stranraer, Esteem Care’s team focuses on personalised care, with the goal of eliminating loneliness, promoting good nutrition, and enhancing safety at home.
Dr Sayani Sainudeen, founding partner and investment director of Y1 Capital, which was the parent company of Esteem Care, said: “This acquisition ensures that our clients will continue to receive top-tier, compassionate care while benefiting from Grosvenor’s expansive resources and expertise.”
Tony Veverka, the CEO for Esteem and Y1 Capital, said: “Joining Grosvenor is a strategic step that promises growth and enhanced service delivery for our clients.”
The group was formed from a buy and build strategy by Y1 Capital under the leadership of Dr Sainudeen.
The first acquisition was Guardian Response based in Dumfries in 2015, followed by Cumbria View Care Services based in Kendal in 2018.
The next company to join was Able Care and Support Services in 2020 along with Vive UK Social Care in the same year. The group then rebranded as Esteem in 2023 under the guidance of Tony Veverka, group CEO.
Lee Peach, from Grosvenor Health and Social Care, said: “Esteem Care’s dedication to personalised, high quality care is a perfect fit for our vision.
“We are excited to integrate its exceptional service model and staff into our operations, ensuring continuity and expansion of the outstanding care Esteem is known for.”
Dr Sainudeen and Tony Veverka will now focus more of their time on their healthcare operation, Transform Healthcare, which is the UK’s largest provider of cosmetic and bariatric surgery.
Dr Sainudeen has also called on the new Labour Government to invest more into social care, given the state of the sector.
