Debt recovery firm expands North West HQ and lease in commitment to region

A Liverpool-based debt recovery and credit management services provider is growing its operations.

Ardent Credit Services is owned by Phillips & Cohen Associates (PCA).

The expansion is to manage increasing collections activities in the public sector as well as outstanding balances for blue-chip organisations in the telecoms, insurance and motor finance sectors.

The company has expanded its available office space to 15,000 sq ft and extended its lease to the end of the decade at its headquarters in Knowsley, signalling its long term commitment to the local area and its continued growth since becoming part of PCA last year.

This additional space is to allow for further expansion and to include a new, dedicated training, HR and IT facilities to accommodate a growing team and attract the best local talent.

John Ricketts, Managing Director of Ardent Credit Services, says the company, which currently employs approximately 135 staff, continues to go from strength to strength: “We have a vision not to be the biggest but to be the best and are investing accordingly, in additional premises, people, and technology.

“Our industry is a sensitive sector in which to work, especially in the context of the cost-of-living crisis, but also a vital part of the economy. Collecting with compassion and acknowledging the life challenges faced by many of our customers is key to delivering good outcomes for everyone.”

He added: “We aim to grow organically, through our existing client base, as well as expanding into new sectors where our expertise protects customers as well as our clients’ reputations.”

Nick Cherry, Chief Operating Officer of PCA, said: “The site provides a fantastic working environment which brings access to the city’s significant talent pool and allows us to provide colleagues with genuine career opportunities within the wider PCA Group as well as a significant opportunity to grow.”

Since being acquired, Ardent has invested in its digital capabilities – some 60%-70% of all payment transactions are now digitally self-served.
