Back office group bolsters recruitment sector focus with ‘significant’ acquisition

Sapphire, the Stockport-based contracting and accounting firm, has concluded a ‘significant’ acquisition, for an undisclosed sum, of an admin-focused firm.
My Digital Timesheets is part of Stockport-based My Digital, and has now been rebranded by contracting and accounting firm Sapphire as Quartz.
It is an established pay and bill, timesheet, and expense approval platform and will boost Sapphire’s recruitment agency productivity.
The deal also involves the establishment of a team of developers, reaffirming Sapphire’s commitment to delivering innovative, technology-driven solutions tailored to the needs of recruitment agencies.
Quartz is a secure, cloud-based platform designed to eliminate the complexities of invoicing clients, paying suppliers and contractors, and tracking financial data.
Already processing timesheets from tens of thousands of contractors each week, the system has been proven to speed up back office operations by up to 80%, significantly reducing the administrative burden on recruitment agencies.
The platform’s all-in-one portal ensures seamless communication and coordination between recruiters, clients, and contractors, enabling effortless management of timesheets, expenses, invoices, and payments.
Quartz’s compatibility with leading accounting, payroll, and CRM systems, including Xero, eliminates manual and duplicate data entry, saving time and reducing errors.
Also, its advanced analytics, powered by AWS Quicksight, delivers actionable insights that help recruitment agencies identify trends and make informed, data-driven decisions.
The platform’s white-labelling feature enables agencies to brand Quartz as their own, ensuring a consistent and professional experience for clients and contractors.
Sapphire’s umbrella payroll and accountancy services are dedicated to ensuring peace of mind for its agency partners and the entire supply chain, enabling them to unleash their full potential.
The business has been employee-owned since 2021, and managing director, Mark Connor, said: “This acquisition marks a significant milestone for us. Quartz’s capabilities align seamlessly with our vision to streamline processes and elevate service experiences for our clients.
“By bringing on board a development team at the same time, we’re not just acquiring cutting edge technology, we’re fostering ongoing innovation and we have ambitious plans to develop Quartz into a market leading SaaS based solution.”
He added: “Our clients can look forward to even more advanced features and integrations in the near future, solidifying Quartz as an essential tool for managing contractor relationships and optimising business operations.”
