Liverpool John Lennon Airport (LJLA) has appointed Natalie Mackay to the new position of Travel Trade Executive helping to develop the airport’s relationship with the travel trade across the Liverpool City Region, the North West and North Wales

Having worked in the travel industry for more than 25 years, Natalie joins the team at the airport bringing a wealth of experience, with the past five years spent working as a Branch Manager at the Liverpool Kirkby branch of Hays Travel.

The recent growth in services and operators at Liverpool LJLA alongside the airport’s award-winning customer service means that more and more of the region’s travellers are now choosing to fly from Liverpool.

Natalie’s work over the coming weeks and months will be to ensure that the region’s travel trade know all about the latest airport developments and the benefits of flying from Liverpool to help with the service they offer when dealing with customers who may be considering flying from Liverpool, perhaps for the first time.

Natalie said: “As someone who has advised local travellers and helped with their travel plans for a number of years, I know how important it is to constantly improve your travel knowledge of the customer journey from start to finish, so I’m really looking forward to working with the region’s travel trade, promoting all the many benefits of flying from Liverpool.”

Adam Copeland

National consumer law firm, Simpson Millar, has welcomed experienced Solicitor Adam Copeland to its expanding Clinical Negligence team.

Operating from the firm’s Manchester office, Adam’s arrival addresses a growing demand for the firm’s services nationwide from clients who have suffered harm or injury due to clinical negligence, including cases of birth trauma, complex surgical injuries, orthopaedic and spinal injuries, and delayed diagnoses.

Adam brings more than 26 years of experience to the role, with a specialist focus on wrongful birth and obstetric cases, along with representing clients impacted by delayed cancer diagnoses, acquired brain injuries, fatal cases, and substandard surgery. 

A member of the AvMA Specialist Clinical Negligence Panel, he will now work with the firm’s wider Clinical Negligence team, under the leadership of industry heavyweight Kate Sweeney, to provide expert advice.

Adam said: “I am pleased to be joining a firm that shares my values and places the needs of our clients at the heart of everything that it does.”

Dan Whelan

Stockport-based commercial agent and property services company Fairhurst Buckley has expanded their team by appointing Dan Whelan as the new Associate Director.

An experienced Chartered Building Surveyor, he holds a BSc (Hons) degree in Building Surveying from Salford University and is chartered with the Royal
Institution of Chartered Surveyors. He joins Fairhurst Buckley from AG Built Environmental Consultancy, where he worked in the Commercial Building Surveying
team handling acquisitions, dilapidations, and project management.

He will focus on services related to commercial, retail, and industrial properties. His extensive experience in managing a team of surveyors and contractors to deliver a portfolio of works positions him well to support the growth of Fairhurst Buckley’s Building Consultancy team.

John MacMillan, Director at Fairhurst Buckley commented: “After the constraints brought about by the pandemic, and judging by the number of new instructions, including some long-term substantial projects, our sector has recovered well.

Manchester Victoria Baths has appointed Liz Taylor as a Special Advisor, to help the venue develop its corporate and private events business.

When it closed for swimming in 1993, The Manchester Victoria Baths Trust was set up by residents and comprises trustees, staff, and volunteers, who manage the building on behalf of Manchester City Council. Their current focus is to maintain and further develop Victoria Baths as a unique visitor attraction, events space, and community venue, to ensure the building continues to be discovered and enjoyed by the local community and new audiences.
