Global salon suites concept expands with latest opening following £1m renovation
Phenix Salon Suites, the US-based flexible workplace for hair and beauty professionals, is expanding to Liverpool, after opening its first European site in Manchester in 2021.
This business enables entrepreneurs to build their own brand in the heart of a city centre.
In the US the brand currently has more than 400 sites.
Located at Liverpool’s iconic Corn Exchange Building on Fenwick Street, the new 6,500 sq ft site has been transformed into 35 suites following a £1m renovation project.
Each suite comes with high quality equipment including a salon chair or beauty bed, backwash or spa sink, cupboard and trolley.
The suites also have 24-hour access, Wi-fi, air conditioning and kitchen and laundry facilities, with tenants able to fully customise each suite to make the space their own.
World recognised hair expert and UK managing director at Phenix Salon Suites, John Gillespie, said: “Phenix Salon Suites has been built on a passion for being the change we want to see in the hair and beauty industry.”
He added: “Phenix Salon Suites is a relatively new concept for the UK, but after the huge success we’ve experienced over in the US, it’s clear to see that others recognise the need for a new way for hair and beauty industry professionals to run their businesses.
“Previously, those who wanted to set up on their own would often have to rely on renting a pricey chair in a salon, but with Phenix, all our tenants have the power to be their own boss while getting the chance to gain the core skills needed to make their business a success.
“Liverpool is a city with a thriving beauty industry and so much talent, making it the perfect location for us, too. It’s exciting to be launching our new site here, and we can’t wait to welcome hair, beauty and wellness professionals as we help them make their business dreams a reality.”
Rental periods at Phenix sites are available for as little as one month. Tenant, hair and beauty industry professionals also benefit from business mentoring, seminars and an immersion programme to help them build and maintain their business.
The concept was launched by Gina Rivera, renowned haircare and hair colour brand entrepreneur and creator of newly launched beauty line Gina Xoxo, who previously appeared on Channel 4’s Undercover Boss.
The Liverpool site will be its fourth UK opening since 2021, including Manchester, Birmingham and Nottingham, with further openings in Newcastle and Derby in the pipeline.
