Oasis reunion to be major boost for leading promoter SJM

The Oasis reunion next year will be a huge boost for two huge promoters, SJM Concerts and Live Nation, which are promoting the tour.

Music industry estimates put the budget for the formerly feuding Gallagher brothers at £50m.

Manchester-based SJM Concerts is one of the largest concert promoters in the UK, offering more than 2,000 concerts a year.

The teaser image of this morning’s date in Oasis style graphics was made on Sunday evening after a concert by Stockport band Blossoms, promoted by SJM.

Founded by Simon Moran, also the chairman of Warrington Wolves Rugby League club, the company partners with other promoters.

The last set of accounts filed at Companies House show that the business made £17.7m of pre-tax profit on turnover of £275m for the year 2022.

A series of concerts at Heaton Park in North Manchester would use the site infrastructure for next June’s Parklife Festival, which Live Nation wholly acquired from Manchester promoter Sacha Lord earlier this year. SJM also had a stake in Parklife and The Warehouse Project.

Oasis will play Cardiff Principality Stadium – 4th/5th July, Manchester Heaton Park – 11th/12th/19th/20th July, London Wembley Stadium – 25th/26th July & 2nd/3rd August, Edinburgh Scottish Gas Murrayfield Stadium – 8th/9th August, and Dublin Croke Park – 16th/17th August.

It’s expected that Oasis will also play further dates at Wembley, but the Etihad Stadium, home of Manchester City Football who the Gallagher brothers support, will be open for concerts again in 2025, following the construction of an extension.

Los Angeles headquartered Live Nation, the biggest live entertainment company in the world also owns Ticketmaster.

In a social media message this morning Noel Gallagher said: “This is it, this is happening”, confirming the dates and providing a link to a website which initially crashed due to weight of traffic.
