A homecare provider has made three top appointments at its branch at Preston.
Westmorland Homecare has appointed Liz Logan as its Care Manager, Lisa Hall as Training and Recruitment Coordinator and Julia Smyth as Care Coordinator Client Experience.
The Preston branch, which opened in December last year, provides care to enable vulnerable and often frail people over the age of 18 to live independently in their own home.
Liz Logan, 51, said: “My grandfather had to have one of his legs amputated and, while I was working as a registered childminder, I and my family supported him to be able to remain living at home.”
Former nurse Lisa Hall, 45, said: “I joined the healthcare sector because I am very caring in nature and naturally want to help and support people. I am passionate about ensuring staff are trained sufficiently to deliver excellent and safe standards of care.”
Julia Smyth, 39, said: “Westmorland Homecare has a very good reputation so I was delighted when I saw a job come up at Preston.”

Manchester-based performance marketing agency Candidsky has launched a Digital PR offering following a strategic new hire.
Amelia Evans joins as Senior Digital PR Manager, bringing with her a wealth of experience from previous agency Journey Further where her roster of clients included Virgin Money, Oliver Bonas, LUSSO, Ginger Ray and 247 Blinds.
Her appointment comes at an exciting time for Candidsky as it add to its existing SEO, PPC, Paid Social and Content services.

Lund Bennett Family Law, based in Cheshire and Manchester city centre, has appointed Catherine Loadman as a Senior Lawyer. Catherine brings more than 24 years of experience in family law, further strengthening the firm’s expertise in handling complex and high-value cases.
Catherine specialises in a broad range of family law matters, including High Net Worth Divorce, Domestic Abuse, Cohabitation Agreements, Civil Partnership Dissolution, and Children Act applications.

New Care has appointed Darren Molyneux as registered home manager at Wilmslow Manor, its 63-bed care facility on Handforth Road.
Darren initially joined New Care in 2018 as Team Leader and has since furthered his care career at the company, taking on the roles of Head of Care and Deputy Home Manger in recent years, as well as achieving a diploma in Level 5 Leadership and Management in Adult Social Care with distinction.
He said: “I am really proud of all that I have learnt and achieved at New Care and am even more passionate about my new role than ever before. I am looking forward to building strong relationships with the residents, their relatives and the staff.”

Global cable and pipe seal manufacturer Roxtec is bolstering its industry and infrastructure team with the appointment of George Light as Data Centre Market Manager for the UK.
George joins Bury-based Roxtec after spending the past 15 years running his own business in the international data centre industry.
Roxtec Managing Director, Clive Sharp, said “George joins the Roxtec team at a time of high growth for the business in the data centre industry. We’ve seen significant demand in data centres over the last 10 years and that is being supercharged by AI. As a result we’re already working with some of the biggest tech firms in the world across multiple projects in the UK and Ireland which George will be supporting.”

Independent accounting and business advisory firm Hurst has welcomed five trainees to its ranks, taking its total intake this year to nine.
The latest recruits are Hannah Davidson, Angus Hall, Ella Halsall, Danielle Morrison and Daniel Saysell.
Their arrival follows a group of four trainees who joined the practice in April, comprising Finnlay Blanchon, Aidan Coyne, Fergus Elstone and Ahsan Waseem.
All of the nine newcomers have joined the business services team to undertake their training towards becoming chartered accountants.
Hannah, Daniel and Ella graduated in accounting and finance at Manchester Metropolitan University. Danielle has a forensic psychology degree from MMU.
Angus graduated in business economics at the University of Liverpool.
Of the April cohort, Finnlay and Ahsan were college leavers. They gained their A-
levels at Aquinas College in Stockport and Loreto College in Manchester, respectively.
Aidan has a food science degree from the University of Leeds and Fergus graduated in international business at Sheffield Hallam University.
Meanwhile Nathan Wood has joined Hurst on a one-year placement while studying at the University of Salford for a degree in accounting and finance.
Hurst partner, Chris Stewardson, who is responsible for trainee inductions and
chairs the firm’s training committee, said: “Hannah, Angus, Ella, Danielle and Daniel are our first intake since our move to new offices and we are excited to welcome them into the business services team. They have joined from various northern universities, where they studied a range of subjects.
“We look forward to seeing all of our trainees develop their careers with us and playing their part in helping us to achieve our continued growth plans.”
The firm recently moved its head office to a new flagship development in Stockport to accommodate its growing team, taking 11,000 sq ft at 3 Stockport Exchange.
Hurst had been based since 1996 in Tiviot Dale in Stockport town centre, but outgrew the premises. The firm aims to grow from 120 staff to around 170 over the next three years.
