Expanding FM services provider acquired by national operator
A £21m-turnover Lancashire-based soft-FM specialist has been acquired, for an undisclosed sum.
Aston Services Group, from Leyland, has been taken over by the acquisitive London-based Atlas FM Group.
ASG has grown by more than 30% in the past 12 months. Over the past three years ASG undergone a significant transformation, with organic growth substantially increasing revenue and profits.
Much of this growth is attributed to the expansion of its national blue chip portfolio of clients, to which it provides high quality cleaning and security services.
Atlas FM says it is the UK’s fastest growing privately owned facilities management company.
It was founded in 1986 and now operates nationwide with 11,000 people at more than 6,000 sites.
The transaction will strengthen Atlas’s existing security offering in the North and Midlands.
Chris Wisely, Atlas Group CEO, said: “We see ASG as a regional leader with a reputation for quality. This grows our existing cleaning and security offering in the North and Midlands, and the warm and family-style culture of ASG fits nicely with our own.”
Nick Atkinson, managing director of ASG, said: “All of us at the Aston Services Group are very excited about the benefits this deal brings for both ourselves and the Atlas Group.
“From an Aston Services Group point of view, this new arrangement will certainly help us grow the company and offer an even brighter future for all our talented team.”
He added: “Atlas Group’s scale allows us to offer our high quality services to even more prospective clients right across the UK.”
Rickitt Mitchell advised ASG on the deal and its partner, Kaine Smith, said: “ASG’s strong growth is testament to the investment and hard work made by its management team.
“Ian and Nick are fantastic leaders with great integrity and it has been a genuine pleasure to work alongside them on the transaction.”
ASG was advised by Kaine Smith and Naomi Hill, of Rickitt Mitchell, and Rob Loveday of LLM (legals).
