Fast-growing accountancy firm, Cooper Parry, has acquired UHY Hacker Young Manchester, for an undisclosed sum.

The purchase is part of a deal which also includes the acquisition of Haines Watts Thames Valley/Reading.

The deals see CP increase its specialist team headcount across Audit, Tax,

Outsourcing and Deals by 200, including 17 Partners, to more than 1,400 and takes group turnover to £180m for the current financial year.

The move follows organic growth, the recent acquisition of fast-growing London-based Salesforce consultancy, Cloud Orca, and co-founding the global professional services firms’ community, ATLAST.

The completion of these ninth and 10th deals in 20 months further drive CP’s ambition to be the undisputed #1 adviser to mid-market businesses.

Ade Cheatham, Cooper Parry CEO, said: “Two landmark deals over the last couple of days confirms our ambition to create the UK’s next gen professional services group. Acquiring UHY Hacker Young Manchester allows us to establish a powerful presence in the North West.

“Our presence at the centre of every key UK business powerhouse – as one iconic and rebellious brand – is key to supercharging the next phase of our expansion and market leadership.”

Dave Kendrick, UHY Hacker Young Manchester CEO, said: “I am hugely proud of what we have achieved over the last few years as a team and taking our amazing 160+ strong team into the Cooper Parry business feels the perfect fit.

“Our growth ambitions, culture, team ethic and industry specialisms feel very much aligned and we now have the platform to dominate the North West region as the leading advisory firm.”

UHY Hacker Young said it is now looking for a new member firm in the Greater Manchester area after the acquisition by Cooper Parry.
