One of Britain’s largest country club chains is heading to market as its private equity backer prepares to cash in.

According to Sky Sport, Epiris, the firm behind The Club Company, has enlisted DC Advisory to handle the sale of the 17-site portfolio, potentially launching an auction process later this year.

The company’s portfolio features locations across Staffordshire, Dorset, Warwickshire, Worcestershire, Rutland and Cheshire.

With championship-level golf courses, health and fitness facilities, restaurants, bars and accommodations at each venue, The Club Company has become a prominent name in the UK leisure sector.

Informal talks with potential buyers are already underway, signalling interest in the group as Epiris eyes its next move.

Epiris acquired The Club Company in 2018 and has since expanded its portfolio, adding four new sites.

However, the firm’s current valuation expectations remain under wraps.

The Club Company has been approached for a comment, with no immediate response.
