Lancashire financial services specialist completes fourth acquisition

L-R: Laurence O'Connor, Alan Walsh (Financial Affairs), Linda Davies, Max Robinson, Leah Towers (Owen & Ewing)

Burnley-based Financial Affairs, a firm specialising in insurance broking and financial planning, has completed its fourth acquisition, by bringing Owen and Ewing Insurance Brokers into the group.

The value of the acquisition is undisclosed.

Owen and Ewing, founded in 1973 and based in Oswaldtwistle, is focused on the insurance broking industry, offering specialist advice for commercial and business insurance as well as offering personal insurances for home, motor and travel.

The deal further expands Financial Affairs’ portfolio and its offerings, which it says makes the group one of the North West’s leading independent insurance brokers.

The acquisition will allow Owen and Ewing to leverage the resources and expertise of a larger organisation, continuing to operate under the current established brand, ensuring its clients get the same trusted service they’re used to while benefiting from the resources of a larger, independent business.

Laurence O’Connor, CEO of Financial Affairs, welcomed Owen and Ewing into the group, saying: “At Financial Affairs, we place a high value on traditional, family-run businesses, and it’s wonderful to see that Owen and Ewing share our aligned values and a strong company culture.”

Directors of Owen and Ewing, Max Robinson, Leah Towers and Linda Davies, said: “Becoming part of the Financial Affairs Group is a significant and exciting step forward for us.

“We’re proud and excited to bring our company into such a dynamic, values-driven organisation that shares our dedication to exceptional client service and strong community ties.”
