New cinema launches recruitment drive for 30 roles ahead of imminent opening

A recruitment drive for more than 30 jobs has been launched by a new cinema set to open in Preston.
The first appointment at the Arc Cinema is that of general manager, Richard Pollit, ahead of the opening early next year.
He said: “I am thrilled to be part of this exciting project and to help bring The Arc Cinema’s premium experience to Preston.
“As a Lancashire local, it’s particularly meaningful to see this investment in our community and to play a part in creating new job opportunities for the city.”
The cinema aims to become a vibrant part of Preston’s cultural fabric.
It will be a major attraction within Preston’s Animate complex, a £45m entertainment and leisure hub located in the city centre.
Animate will feature an eight-screen cinema, a bowling alley, family-friendly restaurants, a street food hub, and a 164-space car park.
The development is part of the broader £200m regeneration of Preston’s Harris Quarter.
The Arc Cinema’s Preston venue will feature luxury recliner seating throughout and crystal-clear 4K laser projection as standard.
Also, its HYPERSENSE premium large format (PLF) screens will offer giant wall-to-wall visuals paired with immersive Dolby Atmos surround sound, providing an unparalleled cinematic experience, it said.
