Friday high five – the news this week

I want to take this opportunity to thank all our readers, customers and advertisers for your support throughout 2024.

The need to change, to innovate, and to work at pace has never been as important.

We know that because we observe how the best of you work. But they are also the principles we live by in our own business.

Over the last year we’ve launched Rainmakers, a new premium editorial platform that has exceeded our initial expectations. There is the appetite for quality content that goes beyond the basics. It’s up to us to keep developing it.

Our editorial coverage has always sought to be timely and comprehensive, but also to provide insights and context where we can.

This week is no exception, as the five leading stories confirm – more deals in the professional services sector, a massive shake up of regional political structures, and a change of ownership at one of our major football clubs.

Throughout the year we’ve consistently shone a light on a vast array of topics spanning the business world.

But we’ve also upped our game on the events side of things too. Two conferences, three awards events, 17 round tables, 14 daytime speaker events, on top of all the other events we attended just to stay connected and keep an ear to the ground.

We have plans to crank up the quality and the volume in 2025.

In the first week of the new year I’ll be sharing my predictions for the year ahead. Having reviewed last year’s crystal ball gaze, it’s a good job that I’m not a gambler. That said, apart from the Trump win, I was in the right ballpark on most things. Just early.

Have a wonderful Christmas, and see you on the other side.
