Acquisition enables fire detection group to expand its marine sector focus

Bury-based Nobel Fire Systems has acquired Marine Fire Safety, for an undisclosed sum.
Nobel is a provider of specialist fire detection and suppression solutions protecting everything from public transport to data centres, battery energy storage, and commercial kitchens, with customers including KFC, Statera, Sungrow Power, Wartsila Energy Storage.
It has acquired Surrey-based Marine Fire Safety, a specialist fire detection and suppression equipment supplier and installer for marine applications.
Marine Fire Safety also provides safety equipment including life rafts, immersion suits and lifejackets.
The deal will enable Nobel to accelerate its growth by deepening its presence in the marine sector and further broadening its international channels through Marine Fire Safety’s network, while Marine Fire Safety will benefit from Nobel’s scale and technology.
Marine Fire Safety’s managing director, Mark Bresnahan, will join Nobel’s management team following the acquisition.
Ian Bartle, managing director at Nobel, said: “Marine Fire Safety has built itself a strong reputation for providing high quality safety equipment to its clients, and Mark and the team have extensive technical expertise. Bringing our operations together will only help us better serve our customers.”
Nobel was advised on the acquisition by the Manchester Corporate Finance team at FRP Corporate Finance, led by director, Daniel Brecker, and supported by assistant manager George Barron.
Daniel Brecker said: “This deal reflects the strong appetite for M&A activity that we’ve observed in the fire detection and suppression markets.
“Nobel Fire Systems and Marine Fire Safety have very complementary offerings – together, they’re set to go further, faster by making the most of each other’s scale and hard earned reach.
“We look forward to seeing the combined businesses go from strength-to-strength in the years to come.”
Ian Bartle added: “The support and advice provided by the team at FRP Corporate Finance was second to none and was essential to making the deal possible. With Marine Fire safety on board, we now have our sights set on even stronger growth ahead.”
Pannone Corporate provided buyside legal M&A (Arshnoor Amershi).
