Italian brothers Paolo and Donato Cillo, who are behind the expanding authentic Italian coffee shop chain Gran Caffè, have taken over Liverpool’s Panoramic 34 restaurant, as part of a new partnership.

Panoramic 34 is set 300ft above sea level on the 34th floor of  West Tower, in Brook Street, and is one of the UK’s highest restaurants.

Now, in collaboration with close friend and fellow hospitality business owner, Sham Jagota, Paolo and Donato have taken on Panoramic 34, adding to their collection of venues that include Il Forno, which has successfully operated in Liverpool for more than 20 years, Gran Caffè, Crust on Bold Street, the Italian Quarter’s Antonietta, Hey Farina and Brunchin’ and Botanico in Woolton Village.

Sham Jagota runs the popular neighbourhood eatery Al Dente on Lark Lane.

He said: “There is no better restaurant than the beautiful Panoramic 34.

“Together we will bring our wealth of experience and creative ideas. I am really excited by our vision and look forward to welcoming all our guests on this amazing journey with us.”

Paolo Cillo said: “We have been operating hospitality venues in Liverpool for over two decades, taking time to carefully understand the city, our guests and the experience that each venue must provide.

“Taking over Panoramic further adds to our growing group of restaurants and cafes, ensuring that we can offer our guests a variety of dining experiences in the city.”

Donato Cillo said: “From casual dining through to gourmet menus and now Panoramic’s fine dining experience, our venues all offer something unique for our guests and we’re proud to be able to offer something for everyone and each occasion.

“Myself and the team would like to thank the previous owner, Cathy Frost, for this exciting opportunity.”

Ms Frost is the wife of Hugh Frost, behind property developer Beetham, which built West Tower and introduced Cathy Frost to create the 34th floor restaurant.

Panoramic 34 offers breathtaking views, popular afternoon tea, unique bespoke menus as well as a new and updated bar and cocktail menu that will be available from February 12.
