Nudie Jeans plans Northern Quarter repair workshop and music hub

Iconic Swedish fashion brand Nudie Jeans is to open up a store in Manchester’s Northern Quarter which will double up as a music venue and a jeans repair workshop.

Their first UK Repair Shop outside of London will be located in the city’s Northern Quarter next to Night and Day Cafe on Oldham Street, and is opening its doors at the end of April.

The new Repair Shop in the Northern Quarter will be a meeting place for artists and creatives, and will play host to live music events, repair workshops, panel discussions, and showcasing local Re-use initiatives.

Martin Gustavsson, CCO Nudie Jeans said the stores are not just about selling new products, but he wants them to be hubs for circularity and for the brands community.

“It’s in our stores that we truly connect with our customers—in person and authentically. These personal interactions drive us forward, make us better, and help us build a community that cares,” he said.

Customers return with their Nudie Jeans for free repairs for life. The brand also sell their own Re-Use jeans, which are pre-loved jeans brought in by customers. In return, they receive 20% off a new pair.

He added: “Lastly, it’s no secret that Manchester as a city has always been a huge source of inspiration for the brand. There are many parallels between this industrial city and our hometown of Gothenburg. Manchester is also home to some of the world’s greatest bands (in their opinion): The Stone Roses, Oasis, The Smiths, Joy Division, and New Order, to name just a few.”
