Luxury Swiss watch brand adds to King Street retail mix after sealing 15-year lease

Luxury Swiss watchmaker Audemars Piguet will open its first AP House boutique outside London, on Manchester’s King Street, after completing a 15-year lease to transform the townhouse at 35 King Street.
The new location will serve as an exclusive space for clients to explore the brand’s latest collections.
King Street, historically known as the city’s premier luxury shopping destination, continues to attract high-end retailers, and the arrival of House of AP further cements its status as a hub for prestigious global brands.
Holly Witcomb, associate director at DTZ Investors, landlords of the King Street property, said: “This opening is a testament to the continued confidence that world class luxury brands have in Manchester as a key retail destination.
“House of AP will bring a truly unique and immersive experience to King Street, enhancing its reputation as the North West’s leading luxury retail location.”
Jonathan Thompson of LTL Property, agents that delivered the deal, said: “Securing House of AP for King Street is a major win for the city’s retail scene.
“Audemars Piguet is synonymous with quality and prestige, and this opening highlights the increasing demand for premium retail space in Manchester. We look forward to seeing the boutique become a key part of King Street’s evolution.”
The House of AP says its concept aims to redefine the traditional luxury retail experience, offering a more personal and relaxed atmosphere for watch collectors and enthusiasts.
The King Street location joins a select network of House of AP boutiques worldwide, demonstrating the brand’s commitment to expanding its presence in key international cities.
