Kingdom Group completes second acquisition in less than a week

Newton-le-Willows-based facilities management and services group, Kingdom, has made its second acquisition in the space of a week.
It has acquired Competence Matters, which has offices in Warrington, Glasgow and Livingston, where it delivers construction-related training courses and vocational qualifications.
The senior leadership team, at Competence Matters, which was founded in 2004, will remain at the helm, ensuring continuity and smooth transition for both customers and new colleagues joining Kingdom.
The value of the deal is undisclosed.
Last week Kingdom announced it had added Brighton-based FPR Group, a specialist recruitment business in the industrial and manufacturing, food and horticultural, technical and engineering, and health and social care sectors, for an undisclosed sum.
Kingdom says it will be business as usual for Competence Matters, but with an exciting future ahead.
Terry Barton, Kingdom Group CEO, said: “We have been, and will always remain, an ambitious company with ambitious goals.
“This acquisition strengthens our existing Kingdom Academy training business and we’re committed to supporting the senior leadership team in achieving our shared aspirations.”
He added: “Together and united, we’re positioned to deliver even greater value and innovative training solutions.”
Competence Matters shareholder, David Hanley, said: “After 20 incredible years of building and leading Competence Matters, the time has come for me to step back as I approach retirement.
“It has been a privilege to work alongside such a talented and dedicated team, and I am immensely grateful to every member of staff, past and present, for their hard work, passion, and commitment to excellence.
“Together, we have created a business that has made a real difference, providing invaluable training and qualifications to so many in the construction industry.”
He added: “The Kingdom Group is the perfect partner to take Competence Matters into its next chapter.
“Their vision, values, and expertise align perfectly with what we’ve built, and I am excited to see the opportunities this new partnership will bring for our colleagues and customers.”
