Wirral water conservation company completes management buyout

Aqualogic, a Wirral-based water conservation company which also has operations in South Wales, has undergone a management buyout (MBO), for an undisclosed amount.

The transaction was advised on throughout by dealmaker business, GS Verde Group, and supported with backing from Arbuthnot Latham.

The deal marks a significant milestone in the company’s history, as the business gears up for further growth and is expecting some exciting announcements in the coming months.

Founded in 2004 by Michael Rice, Aqualogic has established itself as an industry leader in water conservation, operating across the UK.

The management buyout signifies the exit of the original founder, chairman, and majority shareholder Michael Rice, along with other minority shareholders.

The business will now be led by current board members Ben Rice (managing director) and Ashley Williams (services director), who will continue to drive the company forward in a partnership operating model.

Ashley Williams said: “I am very excited to continue the growth of Aqualogic. We have an exceptional team that delivers fantastic service.

“I’d like to personally thank Mike for his support over the past 14 years and his trust in allowing Ben and I to continue with his legacy.”

Ben Rice said: “This buyout represents a significant milestone in the journey of Aqualogic and its team. With a great foundation, built on experience, knowhow and trust, we remain committed to maintaining the highest standards and are ready to lead the company into a new era of growth and innovation.”

The management buyout ensures continuity in client relationships and familiarity with internal processes and resources, while also enabling a fresh operating model to help grow the business further in the coming years.

Michael Rice said: “The time is right for me to step away, and I wish the team every success for the future, where I will be watching with a keen eye.”

Aqualogic said it has a number of exciting announcements in the pipeline as the business enters its new era under the new management team and ownership.
