Two Greater Manchester taxi operators transition to expanding cabs group brand

Two Greater Manchester private hire operators, Club Cars and Passenger Cars, are officially rebranding as Veezu, following their recent acquisitions by the Cardiff-based taxi group.

Veezu bought Club Cars in November 2024 and Passenger Cars in January 2025.

It says it has established a near 500-strong Greater Manchester fleet of cars, which it says makes it one of the largest private hire fleets in the region.

As part of the rebrand, Veezu will introduce new zero-emission capable vehicles into the Manchester fleet, supporting the Mayor of Greater Manchester’s air quality objectives in his Clean Air Plan.

The rebrand strengthens Veezu’s presence in the North West, building on its existing services in Wigan and Bolton.

Veezu says both Club Cars and Passenger Cars have experienced strong growth and greatly increased their level of bookings per second, which today stands at one booking every 86 seconds, following both brands joining the business.

Club Cars and Passenger Cars were founded in 1992 and 1998, respectively.

Veezu says they now benefit from smarter ride features, real-time tracking, app-based booking and flexible payment options. Users include around 600 corporate clients in the region, such as the North West Ambulance Service.

The group says it is the UK’s fastest-growing and largest private hire business, operating 24/7 in more than 50 towns and cities nationwide.

Partnering with in excess of 16,000 self-employed driver-partners, Veezu completes millions of bookings each year across both on-demand and pre-booked services.

Nathan Bowles, Veezu CEO, said: “Manchester’s Club Cars and Passenger Cars have built strong, trusted reputations by delivering exceptional local service.

“As we bring both brands together under the Veezu name, we’re not only introducing improved technology and a greener fleet, we’re strengthening our role as a key part of Greater Manchester’s transport network and are proud to support the region’s ambition for a more connected future.”

He added: “Manchester is moving further and faster than any other region in the country when it comes to electrifying its transport networks, and we’re proud to be part of that journey.

“By continuing to invest in a greener fleet, we’re not only supporting the city’s bold sustainability goals, but also helping to improve air quality for everyone who lives and works here.”
