Cumbrian auto software firm sold for £3.2m
AUSTRALIAN software developer Infomedia has bought Cumbria-based competitor Different Aspect Software for almost £3.2m in cash.
Different Aspect is based at Carlisle in Cumbria and was founded by its manging director, Jason Thorpe, who will remain with the business.
Both firms provide specialist software packages to the automotive industry. Different Aspect’s flagship product is VHC-Tracker, which is a vehicle service sales tool used by dealership networks across the UK, although Infomedia’s plan is to roll the product out to its global customers.
Infomedia’s Executive Chairman, Richard Graham said that the acquisition supports its strategy of providing more product depth.
“The DAS suite of products are value-add applications for retail dealerships,” he said. “They have a proven track record in the UK and are ready to make a bigger contribution globally.”
