Lancashire chases new conference opportunities

THE QUALITY of Lancashire’s conference and meeting facilities is being showcased at a national exhibition.

It is the only British region – with the exception of Greater London – which has decided to exhibit in the CHASE exhibition.

This is dedicated to the ‘not for profit’ sector and takes place at the Business Design Centre, in London, today and Wednesday.

The move is part of a drive by Lancashire and Blackpool Tourist Board in partnership with visitBlackpool to highlight the area’s conference and meeting facilities.

The ‘not for profit’ sector represents a significant part of the UK’s conference industry and Lancashire and Blackpool conference organisers believe CHASE, which attracts organisations from across the country, is the ideal place to promote its message.

Tony Openshaw, director of marketing at LBTB, said: “We are delighted to be the only area outside London exhibiting at CHASE.

“We believe the strong and varied conference and meeting packages offered throughout the Lancashire and Blackpool region will be of great interest to charities and associations looking for something extra special, from the exciting and modern approach of Blackpool, the UK’s number one beach resort, to the diversity of Lancashire, that can offer city centre chic as well as rural splendour.

“Our message to the ‘not for profit’ sector is simple: whatever style or size of conference or meeting you are looking to organise, we have the ideal venue and the package to suit.

“Our appearance at CHASE is part of our co-ordinated and high-profile campaign to highlight Lancashire and Blackpool to as wide an audience of businesses, organisations and societies as possible.”
