Home storage business has growth boxed off

HOME storage products supplier Scott Brothers Ltd has seen turnover grow more than 130% to £3.5m in the last three years, and is aiming to hit the £10m mark by 2015.

The Cheshire-based company supplies home storage products such as branded vacuum storage bags, suit hangers and colourful storage boxes. It also supplies the Racor storage range, which consists of various wall mounts, racks and hangers to store bikes and gardening and car cleaning products in sheds and garages.

The company, which employs 14 staff, has said it is on target to increase turnover a further 17% to £4.1m in its current financial year, ending in July 2012 and that it expects to be turning over £10m by 2015.

Duncan Pratt-Thompson, director at Scott Brothers, puts the business’ success down to the breadth of its storage product range and its focus on high levels of customer service.

Customers include Argos, B&Q and Lakeland and the company is developing distributions within leading supermarkets including Tesco, Asda and Aldi.

Mr Pratt-Thompson said: “We have the highest service level of any Argos supplier at 99.8% on time in full delivery. We have also improved stock turn and forecasting, clearing slow moving product lines and are focussed on the introduction of new products.”

He added that June 2011 had been the most successful month since the company’s inception in 1996.

“We have experienced increasing success in recent years, culminating in record sales in May and June 2011. We look forward to the exciting future ahead,” he said.
