Growth in proprietary brands offset market decline at Ultimate Products

A strategic shift towards proprietary brands has cushioned Ultimate Products against a decline in consumer demand for general merchandise. The Oldham-based homeware group, which owns Salter and Beldray, reported revenues of £144.9m for the year to 31 July 2026, down 3.5% from £150.1m. Sales of its proprietary brands rose 5.3% to £128.4m as the group deliberately reduced non-core third-party clearance sales, which fell 60% to £5.5m.
