Administrators called in at golf brand Bobby Jones

ADMINISTRATORS have been called in at Bobby Jones Lifestyle, a golf clothing wholesaler.
Paul Flint and Brian Green of KPMG Restructuring were appointed yesterday as joint administrators of the Preston-based business.
The company owns the license to sell golf wear and accessories under the Bobby Jones brand exclusively in Europe. It is producing some ranges for the Ryder Cup this year.
The brand relates to the 1920s American golfer of the same name who is most famous for his grand slam – victory in all four major golf tournaments in a single calendar year.
Paul Flint said: “Bobby Jones products are pitched at the top end of the golfing spectrum and the company has established partnerships with major retail outlets located at high-profile golf courses such as St Andrews and Valderrama.
“The administrators are currently in the process of seeking a buyer to purchase the stock which remains under the control of the company and would encourage any interested parties to contact us as soon as possible.”
Bobby Jones is owned by the Preston-based Woodford Group which has interests in commercial property and land remediation. It is understood that all staff employed by Bobby Jones have transferred to Woodford.
