Appointments: Naylor joins Santander from Davenham; PrintSoft appoints UK manager; Unsworth joins QC ranks
SANTANDER has appointed Clive Naylor as regional director of its invoice finance division.

SANTANDER has appointed Clive Naylor as regional director of its invoice finance division.

Based in Manchester, Mr Naylor joins the bank from Davenham Group, where he was sales and marketing director.

In his new role he will report to Dave Totney, director of Santander Invoice Finance, and will be responsible for recruiting a team of invoice finance specialists for the north.

Mr Totney said: “He epitomises all that we are keen to project as a key component of Santander Corporate Bank; a quality, team player with the focus and experience needed to deliver funding solutions for our new customer relationships.”

The appointment follows Santander’s acquisition of factoring and invoice discounting provider Liquidity, in October 2009.

PRINTSOFT has appointed Mark Francis as general manager of its UK division, based at the Manchester headquarters.

Mr Francis, who holds an MBA from Newcastle Business School at Northumbria University, has a track record of senior management positions in the software sector, the company said.

Mr Francis said: “A large part of my remit is to build PrintSoft’s UK operations to deliver domestic growth, partly through extending existing technology partnerships and offer cutting-edge innovation solutions to our clients in the marketing and design sphere.

“I aim to differentiate us based on PrintSoft’s international reach and in-depth understanding of the design, print and software requirements of the marketing and creative industries.”

IAN Unsworth from Exchange Chambers has been promoted to the rank of Queen’s Counsel.

In the latest round of QC appointments Mr Unsworth QC became the 16th current member of Exchange Chambers to hold the title.

He was called to the Bar in 1992 and has a substantial criminal practice.

Recently appointed to the SFO list of Counsel, he is on the A List of the Attorney General panel and is a category 4 Criminal Prosecutor. He acts for several prosecuting authorities and provides specialist criminal advice and advocacy to companies and individuals.

Tom Handley, director of Chambers at Exchange Chambers, said: “The process for applying for Queens Counsel has changed beyond all recognition in recent years. 

“Secret soundings are a thing of the past.  Instead, applicants are now judged against a competency framework so that they can demonstrate excellence in each of the set areas.  Ian has done just this.”
