NORTH West dealmakers at Clearwater Corporate Finance advised on the multi-million pound ale of personal care products maker Hallam Beauty.
Yorkshire-based Hallam, which had sales of £37m last year, has been snapped up by Mibelle, a subsidiary of €14.5bn turnover Swiss conglomerate Migros, one of Europe’s biggest personal care companies.
Hallam, was formerly a subsidiary of Sheffield-based GRI Group.GRI will continue as a significant joint venture shareholder.
Manchester-based Clearwater Corporate Finance acted for Mibelle in the deal.
The Sheffield office of Manchester legal firm Halliwells acted for Hallam. Other advisers included accountants Hart Shaw.
Philip Nuttall, partner at Clearwater, said: “Hallam fits the bill for Mibelle. As well as excellent growth prospects, the business has a loyal stable of suppliers and already provides its white label products to some of the UK’s leading retailers.
“The deal represents a key acquisition in Mibelle’s global expansion plans and a major step in Hallam’s progression, taking into account the increased resources and opportunities its new parent, Migros, can provide.”
