CARTWRIGHT Group, the family-owned trailer maker based in Altrincham, has appointed Darren Holland as its new group sales director.

Holland, who has been with the group for 10 years, is now responsible for overseeing Cartwright’s total sales function.

He said: “This is a very exciting time for both Cartwright and myself. We are continually progressing forward and I am extremely happy to be filling this position and look forward to playing a part in the company’s future success.”

LAW firm Shoosmiths has appoinbted a new banking partner at its Manchester office.

Graham Hall has joined the firm from Manchester-based DWF. He has experience both of mainstream corporate banking and acquisition finance work, as well as considerable property finance experience. He will support Shoosmiths’ corporate and real estate teams in Manchester.

The firm’s national head od corporate, Chris Garnett, said: “Graham is well connected in the Manchester banking and finance community, and is considered a ‘go-to’ banking lawyer in the North West.

“He’ll fit very well alongside partner Mark Dawson, who leads our Manchester corporate team, as we look to build our profile for corporate finance work in the region.

LAW firm Kuits Solicitors has appointed part-time judge Elizabeth Heap to its employment team.

elizabeth heapHeap joins Manchester-based Kuits as a senior associate specialising in all areas of contentious and non-contentious employment law.  As well as sitting as a judge at employment tribunals in South Yorkshire and the East Midlands, she has in-house experience with insurer Hiscox.

PROPERTY consultancy Savills has appointed Phil Barmby to its building consultancy team in Manchester.

Phil Barmby of SavillsHe joins as a director and has more than 15 years experience in the property industry having previously been head of building consultancy at BNP Paribas Real Estate’s Manchester office.

Howard Morgan, head of building consultancy for Savills in the north, said: “Phil has an established and well-respected reputation in the North West property market and will be a great asset to our already strong building consultancy team.”

RECRUITMENT consultancy RMG has appointed Dave Cattell as senior consultant in its healthcare team.

Cattell, who has almost 20 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical sciences and recruitment industries, will work on developing a manufacturing, technical and regulatory division within RMG’s healthcare group.

His appointment means that Preston Brook-based RMG now employs seven people in its healthcare division.

Sam Meakin, RMG’s director of healthcare, said: “We are pleased to have secured the services of Dave, given his experience, expertise and contacts in the sector.”

BUSINESSS rates specialist CVS has appointed eight new members of staff.

The Manchester-based firm said that Tania Hibble has joined as regional director of its London office, while the other seven appointments are joining in surveying or associate director roles across its offices in Manchester, Bristol and London.

The other appointees are:- Mike Brown, Adam Cole, Paul Ellis, Paula Field, David Fulvio, Adam Hanley and Kevin Stevenson.

Chief executive Mark Rigby  said the firm is looking to double the size of its client list over the next two years. “Recruiting more professional surveyors into CVS is our way of developing our capability and service, making sure that we can go from strength to strength,” he said.

MANCHESTER-based Definitive Events has appointed Rosie Tams as event manager.

Tams, who has seven year’s experience in the industry, will be responsible for the planning and delivery of events across both Definitive Events and Definitive Sport.

Managing director Lisa Pennington said: ‘We are very pleased to have Rosie on board. The skills and experience she brings with her will further the breadth of experiences we are able to bring to our clients and their events.”
