Bruntwood up against Delancy/Landid for Co-op’s NOMA

MANCHESTER-based developer Bruntwood is vying with a joint bid between Delancey and Landid to be appointed as development partner for the Co-operative Group’s Noma scheme, according to PropertyWeek.com.

The two parties are understood to have been shortlisted for the 4m sq ft development.

The other names on the longer shortlist were BAM Properties and Stanhope.The 20 acre Co-op site in North Manchester will house around 1m sq ft of residential space, 1.5m sq ft of new offices, 1m sq ft of listed offices that will be refurbished, 300,000 sq ft of retail and 200,000 sq ft of hotel accommodation. Co-op selected Liverpool-based Sanguine Hospitality as a development partner for a 176-bed, four-star hotel.

Of the 1m sq ft office development, approximately 325,000 sq ft of the office space will be Co-op’s headquarters.

The project will cost around £800m to develop and is expected to be valued at around £1bn when it is completed by 2026. A spokeswoman for Co-op said a decision would be made in early 2012.
