Pannone appointed as partner to North West Legal Consortium

MANCHESTER law firm Pannone has further strengthened its public sector offering after being appointed as a partner firm to the North West Legal Consortium (NWLC).

Pannone will represent 25 North West councils after being named as one of only four partner firms.

The 25 authorities are all members of the NWLC which includes a passenger transport executive and police authority.

NWLC, which was established in 2006 with four members, is led by Sefton Council.

The pioneering venture is believed to be the first combined procurement of barristers and solicitors by a consortium.

In addition to Pannone, the other three partner firms will include Weightmans, Beachcroft and DLA Piper.

Additionally, a further 31 solicitor firms and 26 barrister chambers from across the region will work across 11 legal panels and 14 barrister panels.

The NWLC appointment follows a number of prestigious public sector panel wins for Pannone including the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA).

Stephen Chalcraft, head of public sector at Pannone, said: “We are delighted to be appointed as one of four partner firms.

“The appointment is a major coup for Pannone and reinforces its position as one of the leading providers of legal services to the public sector in the North West.”
