Appointments: RBS Invoice Finance; Pannone nets ex footballer; Irwin Mitchell & more

ANDY Pickford  has been appointed as corporate development director of RBS Invoice Finance in the North West.

Based at Spinningfields office in Manchester he will be responsible for leading the regional RBS Invoice Finance and ABL team. In his previous role, Andy covered the Yorkshire & North East region working with corporate invoice finance clients.

He has worked for RBS Invoice Finance for five years and has over 22 years banking experience. He has been oined by Christine Waldron-Kelly who joins the expanding North West team as a relationship director.

Pickford said: “I am delighted with my move to the North West and have already been involved in key transactions including providing a £9m invoice finance line for the recent merger between Liverpool-based Assist Recruitment and Manchester-based HC Recruitment.”

FORMER professional footballer turned lawyer Colin Murdock, has joined Manchester law firm Pannone as a consultant.

Murdock played for Preston North End and won 34 caps for Northern Ireland before training as a lawyer with Manchester firm George Davies. He recently launched his own sports management company and represents a number of Premiership and Championship players.

His relationship with Pannone will see the firm provide legal services to his clients.

He said: “After qualifying as a solicitor I saw the opportunity to provide representational services to footballers and wanted a strong legal partner. Pannone is a very great brand across all areas of law and I am confident that the firm will offer the best support to my clients.”

The appointment is part of managing partner Emma Holt’s strategy to move into niche areas of law.

She said: “Colin has a unique offering – excellent contacts in the football world and knowledge of the law which enables him to identify the specific current and future legal needs.

“I am delighted he has joined Pannone to lead our expansion in to the sports law arena.”

CBRE has appointed two surveyors to its valuation and advisory services team in Manchester – James Lockwood and Ed Higgins.

Lockwood joins from DTZ to focus on valuation advisory, while Higgins joins from Knight Frank to work with institutional clients.

The recruitments follow hot on the heels of Andrew Purdon’s appointment as associate director in August, to focus on investment/development consultancy, as well as two other new recruits in the last nine months.
