Appointments: Shoosmiths recruits real estate staff; Creative Spark brings in account manager; and more

SHOOSMITHS’ real estate team in Manchester has reached double figures just six months after launching in the city.

The division was set up in may following partner Varqas Farooq’s decision to relocate to its Spinningfields office to launch the offer. Following a series of recent appointments, it now comprises 12 staff.

Andrew Pattinson has joined from DLA Piper the firm as a partner, while senior associate James Wynne joins from Eversheds.

Other team members include associates Melanie Grimshaw and Neil Bradley; solicitors James Brodie, Marcus Woody and Kirsty O’Connor; paralegal Helen Porter; and PAs Helena McSharry, Amy Robinson and Sharon Graham.

Farooq said: “Back in May I stated that I wanted to develop a real estate team quickly, and am delighted that we have been able to achieve that.

“Now, with these experienced and well connected people in place and with a further senior recruit confirmed for January we can really start to build momentum.”
