National success beckons for PR teams

COMMUNICATIONS organisations from across Greater Manchester have been shortlisted for national industry recognition.
The Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) has picked four different teams to go through to the final of its ‘2010 Excellence Awards’.
Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council’s ‘Active Stockport strives ahead’ campaign and Manchester city centre-based BJL Group’s ‘Strength to Change’ – which aims to combat domestic violence – are both nominated as national finalists in the ‘public sector campaign category’.
Meanwhile Manchester-based Tangerine PR and Brazen PR are finalists in the ‘outstanding public relations consultancy’ category.
Dave Sanders, chair of the CIPR North West group, said: “The CIPR Excellence Awards have grown significantly year on year and are now regarded as a key event in the PR calendar, with the nation’s best organisations and campaigns vying for recognition.
“So being shortlisted is in itself a massive achievement and places these organisations and the North West PR industry as a whole in the national spotlight once again.”
The winners will be announced at the 2010 Excellence Awards dinner ceremony in London on June 16.
