Kuits Solicitors

KUITS Solicitors is a mid-tier corporate and commercial law firm based in Manchester city centre with 20 partners and more than 120 staff.

The firm serves a broad national client base of companies in a wide range of sectors, along with high net worth individuals.

Kuits is also a member of the TAGLaw international law firm network, being one of only five English member firms and the only one North of the M25.  As a result Kuits can access high quality legal advice more than 100 countries.

Under the leadership of managing partner Steve Eccleston and executive partner Robert Levy, over the last 12 months Kuits has grown in size and has increased its offering, but the firm is looking to grow still further.

Robert Levy said, “Like all law firms we have found the last few years challenging.  However, our emphasis on consistently providing exceptional service to our clients, has allowed us to start growing again. Headcount is increasing and we are continuing to explore niche services which will complement those we currently offer.”

Kuits recently announced the addition of entertainment and construction experts to its team, as well as launching a new family law department.

The employment team has also recently grown with the appointment of a part-time tribunal judge.  The firm has bolstered its offering to its target SME market with specialist expertise in the particular issues facing family businesses.

Despite the changes within the legal sector, notably the implementation of Alternative Business Structures, Kuits believes that there is still a market for high quality legal advice and service based on understanding the commercial needs of its clients.

TheBusinessDesk.com recently reported on the resilience of the North West’s deals market during 2011.  Kuits has been involved in a healthy proportion of those deals particularly within the healthcare sector, one of the firm’s specialist areas of expertise.

Other highlights for the year include advising on the match contracts and broadcasting rights for the testimonial matches of ex-Manchester United players Gary Neville and Paul Scholes.

In addition to successfully advising Baker Street Clothing in a trade mark dispute against Lacoste, the Intellectual Property team was involved in two high profile trade mark cases which were included in law reports.  The Kuits Licensing Team was once again given a top ranking in Legal 500 for that specialist area of law.

Robert Levy adds: “We have worked harder than ever over the last few years, and our good work has paid off.  However, we recognise that the wider global economic difficulties may have an impact on businesses in the UK, including our clients and ourselves.  In addition the landscape of the legal sector is changing.  Our response to these challenges is to continue to focus on service excellence, adding value to our clients and continually improving our own business.”
