Small firms’ innovation event at Daresbury

A NETWORK designed to promote business growth and innovation across the North West-North Wales border will hold its next meeting at the Science and Technology Facilities Council in Daresbury on Friday.
Mersey Dee Alliance’s Innovation Network will provides an opportunity for small and medium-sized businesses to assess their performance, gain access to entrepreneurs and experts, and make them aware of the latest regional and national initiatives and opportunities.
The network has been set up to include business advisors, investors, legal advisors, industry and university experts and government agencies with a view to helping firms to grow.
It also allows members to collaborate, share best practice and discuss ways to move businesses forward in the current economic climate. A free exhibition area will be available for network members to showcase their business.
Cheshire West and Chester councillor Herbert Manley, vice-chair of the Mersey Dee Alliance, said: “The network not only includes members of small to medium businesses but provides them an opportunity to meet and progress their businesses with those who support them.
“It also provides members with access to innovative networks such as the national Knowledge Transfer Networks run by the Technology Strategy Board.
“In these economically challenging times it is particularly important to help such businesses face and overcome commercial difficulties and begin to grow.”
The network is supported by Cheshire West and Chester, Denbighshire, Wrexham, Flintshire and Wirral Councils, as well as the Welsh Government.
