Marco Pierre White to launch Liverpool restaurant

TOP chef Marco Pierre White has announced plans to open a new restaurant in Liverpool city centre.

The Kitchen Burnout star has confirmed that his latest eaterie will become the focal point of Hotel Indigo, the new £15m boutique hotel currently under construction in Chapel Street, in the city’s commercial district.

Marco Pierre White Steakhouse Bar and Grill, set to open in spring 2011, will be his third North West venue following the launch of The Swan Inn in Aughton and Doubletree by Hilton Chester, earlier this year.

Mr White said: “There is a clear appetite for affordable glamour and quality food in the region and now we’re bringing that into the heart of Liverpool. It will be somewhere for friends and family to gather in relaxed surroundings and enjoy simple food, cooked perfectly.

“Liverpool is a fantastic city with an indelible link to international trade and an eclectic flavour of personalities to match. Chapel Street stands testament to everything great about the city, from its glorious past to its bright future, and offers the ideal location for my latest venue.

“The city’s dining scene is thriving, with a handful of fine restaurants serving very good food, but we intend to shake things up, give those more established venues a run for their money and raise the bar even higher.”

The 151-bed, four-star Hotel Indigo Liverpool will be owned and operated by North West development group Sanguine Hospitality.

White’s move into Liverpool will again see him working alongside Francis Carroll, his long standing friend and local restaurant entrepreneur, with whom he has worked closely in Aughton and Chester.
