Manufacturing Institute boosts board

THE Manufacturing Institute, the independent Manchester-based charity has appointed three new trustees.

They are Bentley Motors’ Christine Gaskell, Finbarr Dowling from Siemens inverters and and Nick Mulhall from RDF Beaufort. The trio will serve for three years.

The Manufacturing Institute, which is based at Trafford Park, delivers  education, training and consultative services to manufacturing companies.

Dr Julie Madigan, chief executive of The Manufacturing Institute, commenting said: “Our new trustees all have a strong track record of staying ahead of the game when it comes to creating operational excellence.

“I look forward to seeing how their expertise and knowledge can help The Manufacturing Institute continue to transform the performance of the UK’s manufacturers.”

Christine Gaskell, member of the board for personnel at Bentley added:
“It is an honour to join the Board of The Manufacturing Institute and I look forward to contributing to their work to increase the UK’s competitive advantage, develop manufacturing skills and improve productivity.”

Christine Gaskell is also chair of the Cheshire and Warrington Local Enterprise Partnership. She has been on the board of Crewe-based Bentley since 1995.

Finbarr Dowling, 48, is runs Siemens Inverters in Congleton, which employs 520 at the site.

Nick Mulhall , who currently lives in Belfast, will soon be relocating to the North West as he has taken a new role as managing director of RFD Beaufort – Birkenhead, which is one of the Survitec Group.
