Vodafone sells Warrington call centre to HEROtsc

MOBILE phone giant Vodafone has sold its Warrington call centre to a Scottish outsourcing company named HEROtsc.
The centre at Erlang House, in Birchwood Park, will continue to handle the company’s ‘high value’ customers.
The jobs of all 600 staff who work at the site are safe although they are all now employed by HEROtsc.
David Turner, HEROtsc’s chief executive officer, said: “This is a significant development in both the mobile and the contact centre markets and enables us to offer a long term future for the Vodafone employees who will be transferring to HEROtsc.”
Larbert-based HEROtsc – which had sales of £54m last year – already handles calls for Vodafone’s pay-as-you-go customers at its Kilmarnock and Dunoon sites.
It was rebranded from its original Telecom Services Centres name after its acquisition by Indian-based HERO in 2007.
The company now runs seven call centres across Scotland and one in England.
