Appointments: Revolution hires new food chief; DTZ; Investec and more

THE Revolution chain of bar/restaurant venues has appointed Nathan McManus as its new head of food development.

Revolution said that McManus would spearhead the group’s new Food Revolution brand – a new initiative by the Ashton-under-Lyne-based business to increase food sales by 25% across its 66 outlets in six months. He joins having previously worked as development chef at frozen foods company KK Fine Foods and as head of North West gastropub the Calcott Arms.

He will now embark on a a national staff training programme for its 600-plus kitchen and waiting-on staff.

Ioan Eyton-Jones, food operations manager for Revolution, said: “We’re really excited about Nathan’s appointment as we look to transform our dining offering nationwide. The skill, experience and flair for food innovation that he brings to the role will be vital in helping us realise our ambitions for the Food Revolution brand.”

Revolution was formed as a vodka bar chain in 1996. It was sold to Alchemy Partners for £42.5m in 2006, although recent reports have suggested the private equity business has put the chain up for sale again. The chain is run by founder Roy Ellis.

DTZ has appointed Lauren Hanson to work within its portfolio active management team in Manchester.

Hanson had previously worked at MCR Property Group and Hurstwood Developments, dealing with investment portfolios across the UK.

She will be responsible for providing property management services to a variety of clients including pension funds and investors.

She said: “I’m excited to be joining DTZ’s portfolio active management team and look forward to the opportunity to work with the firm’s portfolio of high-profile clients, as well as establish new client relationships.”

Private bank Investec has appointed Stephen Field as associate director of financial planning to its Spinningfields office in Manchester.

Field joins after spending 20 years working with national financial advisory and consultancy firms, as well as a top accountancy practice.

Chris Aitken, head of Investec Wealth & Investment’s UK financial planning team, said:  “Financial planning is a growth area for the business and the UK team has a particular focus on using its specialist knowledge of the ‘at retirement’ market – a critical and growing demographic.  

“Stephen is joining us at a time of real growth and provides a very strong and senior addition to the Manchester team.”

EXECUTIVE recruitment firm threesixty selection has appointed Sophie Nixon as a partner.

She joins from Robert Half International, having specialised in senior financial recruitment within the North West market for more than 15 years.
