Secured Mail tops region’s Fast Track list

WARRINGTON-based mail distributor Secured Mail will feature as one of the three fastest-growing privately-owned companies in this year’s Sunday Times Virgin Fast Track 100 table.

The company is one of 10 from the North West to make the 2011 list, compared with 11 in 2010.

Secured Mail collects 400m letters and small packets each year from business clients and transports them nationwide to depots of Royal Mail, which does the final mile. Sales have grown by 233% a year from £884,000 in 2007 to £32.6m in 2010, though margins were slim.

Other new entries to the region are the Fideliti childcare voucher administration business started with a £50,000 investment from Betfred co-founder Fred Done. Its sales have grown 87% a year from an annualised £6.3m in 2008 to £41.3m in 2011.

Other North West firms to make the list include Cheshire-based natural pet foods firm MPM Products (32nd, £8.7m), Wilmslow-based APS Salads (45th, £35m), Manchester recruitment company Liquid Personnel (46th, £12.4m), Amber Taverns (47th, £18.5m), Badger Office Supplies (56th, £9.7m), OneE Tax (57th, £17.5m), Cartridge Save (62nd, £8.2m) and Waterfall Services (71st, £43.3m).

Sir Richard Branson of Virgin, which has been the title sponsor of the Fast Track league table since its inception 15 years ago, said:  “2011 has been another challenging year for the UK in political and economic terms. Against this economic background the strong performance of the Fast Track 100 companies is to be especially applauded.”
