Schoolwear supplier Banner sold to rival

SCHOOLWEAR supplier Banner Group – which owns the Beau Brummel and Distinctive brands – has been acquired by a rival for an undisclosed sum.

The Stockport-based importer has been purchased by Wiltshire-based company Blue Max.

Blue Max has acquired Banner after buying Tangram Ventures which, in turn, bought the business from Cosalt in 2008.

Blue Max has said that the deal will make it the biggest player in the British schoolwear market with a value of around £25m.
