Assura’s £3m Milford Haven centre on site

HEALTHCARE property group Assura has started on site on a £3m medical centre in Milford Haven in South Wales.
Warrington-based Assura said the centre is being in conjunction with LSP Developments and Hywel Dda HealthBoard.
The scheme will see the Barlow House and Robert Street GP surgeries move into the new Milford Haven Medical Centre, which will be a single, purpose-built primary healthcare centre. The practices will keep their own identities within the building.
The centre will also provide a base for health board services including district nurses, midwives, health visitors and an integrated pharmacy.
Rob Elliot, assistant director of estates and capital management at Hywel Dda Health Board, said: “This modern, purpose-built development is part of our commitment to providing high quality care closer to home.”
Andrew Darke, managing director of Assura Group, said: “It is fantastic to see construction starting on the medical centre, which will provide the community of Milford Haven with modern, state of the art healthcare facilities.”
The centre should complete by November 2012. It has been designed by West Hart Partnership and is being built by contractor OPCO.
