Lettings latest: MAG Developments; Commercial Estates Group; and more

THE commercial property arm of Manchester Airports Group, MAG Developments, has secured six new lettings totalling 8,291 square feet (sq ft) across its portfolio at Manchester Airport.
ICTS (UK), which provides aviation, transport and luxury goods security has taken 929 sq ft of office space at MAG Developments’ 4M building.
Travel retailer World Duty Free, part of Autogrill Group, has also moved into 1,520 sq ft of office space in the 4M building.
MIQ Logistics, which offers transport and distribution services to North and South America, Asia and Europe, has taken has taken 4,015 sq ft of industrial space at MAG Developments’ World Freight Terminal.
Three businesses have also taken space at its recently refurbished 308 Avro Way office building, which is also on the World Freight Terminal estate.
New start-up freight-forwarding operation HSR International Freight (UK) has taken 353 sq ft of office space, Panasonic Avionics Corp has taken 956 sq ft and warehousing, logistics & customs clearance company Maurice Ward Group has taken 518 sq ft.
Stephanie Mullenger, business development director of MAG Developments, said: “Enquiry levels continue to remain steady and as demonstrated by this latest round of lettings we are converting a number of enquiries into transactions by providing bespoke deals and flexible terms.
“The airport sector of the South Manchester market has, and continues to be, one of the most active in the region and we feel that this resilience, buoyed by offering of the airport, bodes well for 2012.”
CB Richard Ellis and WHR are office agents for 4M; while Jones Lang LaSalle and p3 industrial are agents for the World Freight Terminal.

COMMERCIAL Estates Group (CEG) has signed IT and data centre provider Select Group to a five-year lease at its Jackson House office building in Sale town centre.
Select Group will take a 1,078 sq ft office suite on the building’s ground floor.
Richard Stone, technical design director at Select Group, said: “We are delighted to be moving to Jackson House as it is such a prominent building in the Sale area, and meets all our requirements in terms of its local amenities and characterful space.
“Due to our recent growth, we had been looking for a second, smaller base in the Manchester area, to house our support staff, and Jackson House was an ideal choice.”
Debt management company Smooth Financial moved into Jackson House earlier this month. Other occupiers include IBM, Chep UK and AA Projects Construction Consultants. Savills and Canning O’Neill are joint agents on the scheme.

HALTON Lea Shopping Centre in Runcorn has signed three new independent retailers as tenants.
The centre will be 40 years old next year and its management have agreed deals with ladies’ fashion retailer Koko White, foot spa Footalicious and accessories store Terry’s Boutique. A total of eight new jobs will be created within the units.
Terry McElory, owner of Terry’s Boutique said: “We started out as a pop-up and were impressed with the high footfall numbers at the Centre, so have moved into a permanent unit.
“In our first couple of weeks of trading, we’ve met our forecasts and are confident of good Christmas results.”
Lindsay Bellis from Halton Lea Shopping Centre added: “We’re delighted to have attracted three more independent retailers, it’s a great addition to our overall retail mix which includes a combination of household names and brands unique to our region.”
The centre attracts an average of 150,000 shoppers a week. An improvement programme for the carparks is currently underway and further developments are planned for 2012.

HURSTWOOD has signed up two new deals with commercial tenants in Lancashire.
The firm has concluded a deal with construction firm TP Stadco to let an office suite in Europa House at Lune Business Park in Lancaster.
It has taken a lease on the combined suite 1, 2 and 3 at the site, which measures a total of 690 sq ft.
TP Stadco specialises in the design and fabrication of stadium and seating components. The firm has more than 30 years of experience and, in addition to their new North West office, it has a base in Shanghai, China.
Mark Moore from TP Stadco said: “Hurstwood offered us a very flexible deal when we needed it, at a price we could afford.”
Meanwhile, Frimovel has increased the space it has taken at Hurstwood’s New Hall Hey Business Park in Rawtenstall.
It had previously occupied unit 21 at the site and has now taken on the adjoining unit 22, taking its total space to 1,550 sq ft.
Frimovel specialises in shopfittings for retail bakeries, providing full design, installation and project management services.
Eddie Ashworth from Frimovel said: “Our unit at New Hall Hey has suited us very well – the location, access and parking are all excellent and the units are ideal for small companies like ourselves.”
