Entrepreneurial scheme offers £15,000 aid grants

AN ENTREPRENEURSHIP programme offering cash grants of up to £15,000 is open for applications.

Liverpool and Manchester are two of just six qualifying cities in the UK for the Bring it to Life Awards, which offer people aged between 25 and 35 the chance to develop an urban regeneration idea.

There are two types of award: one worth up to £2,200 for those who need the running costs to get their idea off the ground;  and grants of up to £15,000 for established entrepreneurs to get ventures fully operational.

Bidders must show how their scheme makes a positive difference to their local community and in turn winners will be provided with support, skills and funding to create the ventures.

Initiatives need to be new or for an existing idea delivered in a new way, which incorporates social and environmental aims.

The awards are run by Guinness, in honour of its founder Arthur Guinness’ commitment to supporting local communities, support service UnLtd and voluntary organisation Rathbone.

Guinness marketing manager Paul Cornell said: “The Guinness Bring It Life Awards with UnLtd and Rathbone aim to help people realise their passions by providing them with the tools and support to really make things happen.

“The awards bring to life the philanthropic legacy of Arthur Guinness and aim to have a long term positive impact on thousands of people in local communities across Britain.”

Applications close on July 23 – for more details visit www.unltd.org.uk/guinness-bring-it-to-life-awards/
